Greetings from your elected board of directors!
We’ve begun work on our 2016/17 budget. It’s always a lengthy process, involving not only staff from all of our departments but also many community members, including those who volunteer to serve on the Budget Committee. And it’s not done until every detail has been covered and every question has been answered.
The budget informs our decision-making process and ensures funds are available for the programs, maintenance, and special projects that serve your recreational needs. It gives us confidence your property tax dollars are being managed and spent responsibly.
We hold our staff to a high standard, and they deliver consistently and effectively. Just recently, the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada presented THPRD with its Distinguished Budget Presentation Award – for the 11th year in a row.
A series of meetings will be held before the completed budget comes up for adoption in June. All of them are public so you’re invited to attend. You can check www.thprd.org for the meeting schedule or call 503-645-6433.
