THPRD News: Board of Directors

The newest members of the Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District Board of Directors were sworn in at the July 23 board meeting.

Felicita is being honored for her advocacy work on behalf of Latina women and girls in Oregon. She created a community event program called Latinx Social Hour focusing on social justice issues including transgender justice and building relationships with diverse neighborhoods and communities.

Board members have called upon district staff to participate in county-wide coordinated discussions that are expected to begin this year. In the meantime, the Board directed staff to develop the next fiscal year budget with funding that benefits affordable housing development.

THPRD hopes to make it easier for parents and guardians to attend district board meetings and participate in civic discussions.
