Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation

Our mission is to promote the power of choice to enhance the quality of life for individuals of all abilities by providing diverse accessible recreation in an environment that promotes dignity, success and fun.

Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation activities are coordinated and conducted by trained staff to help meet the needs of teens(16+) and adults with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental illness. These programs are available to persons of ALL abilities.

Monday Night TR

This is a recreation and socialization program for teens (ages 16+) and adults with developmental disabilities. Join us for dances, games, trivia nights, off-site activities, and much more. A detailed schedule can be found in the TR Times Newsletter or in our Activities Guide, in the Adaptive and Inclusive Recreation section.

When: Most Mondays, 6:30-8:30 pm.

Cost: $5.50 per night **Registration required

Registration: Online or call/visit front desk of any THPRD facility

Location: Elsie Stuhr Center

To participate:

Register before attending. This can be done at any THPRD facility, in your account online or by phone.
Complete the required Medical Emergency Information Form.
Those requiring 1:1 assistance must submit a non-thprd aide form prior to attending program. Once proper paperwork is processed, participant must bring their aide for the duration of the activity.

Thursday Night All-Stars

Thursday Night All Stars is a program that provides a weekly opportunity for teens (ages 16+) and adults with developmental disabilities to play pick-up basketball. This program includes 30 minutes of warm ups and drills followed by officiated games. Staff and referees divide players into teams to play four quarters with participants subbing in and out.

When: Most Thursdays, 6:00-8:15 pm. (times subject to change)

Cost: $5.25 each time or 5-punch passes available for $26.25.

Location: Tualatin Hills Athletic Center (15707 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton)

To participate

A completed Medical Emergency Information Form is required.
Those requiring 1:1 assistance must submit a non-thprd aide form. Once form is processed, particpant must bring an aide for the entire duration of the activity.

Thursday Night Wheelchair Basketball

Join THPRD and Adaptive Sports Northwest for wheelchair basketball!

This drop-in program provides a weekly opportunity for youth and adults experiencing physical disabilities to play wheelchair basketball.

When: Most Thursdays, 6:30-7:45 pm. (times subject to change)

Location: Tualatin Hills Athletic Center (15707 SW Walker Rd, Beaverton)

To participate:

A completed Medical Emergency Information Form is required.
Those requiring 1:1 assistance must submit a non-thprd aide form. Once form is processed, particpant must bring an aide for the entire duration of the activity.

*A limited number of sports wheelchairs are available for participants that do not have a personal sports chair and can be requested in the medical form.
