Encouraging our preschoolers to be creative and work together yields great rewards, like this art project.
Fall-Spring Preschool Programs
Cedar Sapling 9-Month Preschool
Our 9-Month Preschool program allows children to learn with the same peers and teachers throughout a traditional September-May school year. We have 2 classrooms (Seedlings and Sprouts) with similar curriculum, which offer a variety of time and day options to accommodate your family's needs.
Our goal is to develop healthy and happy preschoolers, and also help them prepare academically for a successful Kindergarten experience.
Registration is ongoing for returning families and new famlies.
-To register, pay a $50 deposit ($100 for full day) in-person or call 503-629-6340 (in-person registrations take priority over phone-in registration); we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover in addition to cash or a check made out to THPRD. We will work on fun projects like paper mache, building volcanoes, making flubber and more! No unregistered siblings (childcare available for siblings at Cedar Hills).
Preschool Play: Join us as we learn through play, stories, and song in this class just for you and your preschooler! This dynamic Saturday class explores something new each week about the world around us, including the seasons, weather, animals, days of the week, counting, the alphabet, and more.
Kindertune Music Adventure: On Wednesdays bring your child and join in with music, movement, games, stories and other activities!
Baby and Me: Boost your baby's brain development while bonding with your baby and others parents in the community on Fridays.
Sensory Explorers: Every child's favorite Thursday class! Toddlers will have a blast in this class exploring different textures, colors, shapes, smells and sounds. We also offer a Second Sensory Explorers class following directly after for your child to participate in a class independently.
Our Preschool Prep classes are a great for children not quite ready for the structured environment of our 9-Month Cedar Sapling program. These classes expose students to a classroom environment, offering them the fundamental skills necessary to ensure a successful start to preschool. These fun classes have two designated learning formats: social learning, and academic learning.
First Time Friends (ages 2½-3½): First Time Friends classes, designed for our youngest students, enhance social skills like sharing, first time separation from Mom and Dad, listening to teachers and following directions, learning to transition from activity to activity and much more. Children will develop motor skills through art, dance, music, story time and free play. Parent participation required for Wednesday classes.
Bright Beginnings (ages 3-5): Bright Beginnings is geared toward improving social skills through positive interactions with fellow students and teachers. Our least structured classroom environment allows children to enjoy art, music, free play and sensory play and provides opportunities to explore group play and build fine & large motor skills as well as social and cognitive skills.
