Wells joins Oversight Committee for THPRD bond measure
Nancy Wells of Cedar Mill has been appointed to a committee that oversees implementation of the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District's 2008 voter-approved bond measure.
Wells will serve a two-year term on the Parks Bond Citizen Oversight Committee. The THPRD Board of Directors made the appointment at their regular monthly meeting on Aug. 10.
A certified auditor by profession, she serves on the board of directors of the Willamette Valley ISACA chapter of information technology security, audit and compliance professionals.
Her community service in recent years has included stints with the Cedar Mill Parent Teacher Club, Cub Scouts, youth soccer and other activities.
The oversight committee consists of 12 members whose purpose is to ensure the park district meets the objectives of the 2008 bond measure and uses the funds as planned. Committee members focus on delivery of overall bond measure obligations, not specific projects or activities.
The committee reports annually on overall progress in meeting objectives. Members have the opportunity to recommend improvements in efficiency, administration or performance.
Parks Bond Measure 34-156 was approved in November 2008 by voters within THPRD boundaries. The measure provided funds for land acquisition and dozens of improvement projects focused on parks, trails, natural areas, athletic fields, and facilities.
