For the 11th straight year, Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District has been honored for the quality of its budgeting process.
THPRD received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The accolade reflects a commitment to meet the highest principles for budget transparency and communication with the public.
The district’s 2015/16 fiscal year budget was judged for its effectiveness as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.
The GFOA is a nonprofit, professional association serving more than 18,000 government finance professionals throughout North America.
“Being recognized for excellence by the GFOA never gets old,” said Keith Hobson, THPRD director of Business & Facilities. “I want to thank all of our staff who work diligently to develop the budget, and to our budget committee and board of directors for holding us to a high standard every year.”
