New "Extreme Egg Hunt" highlights March events

Eager kids of all ages won’t have to wait much longer to enjoy THPRD’s annual spring egg hunts – they arrive early this year!

Traditionally, these popular family events are for younger hunters. THPRD still has the same fun activities planned for the little ones, but this year’s schedule also includes the debut of a competitive “Extreme Egg Hunt” for ages 13-17.

Preregistration is recommended at all events because space is limited. Residents are encouraged to hop online to secure a spot, or call the host center.

No registration or admission charge is required for the Artisan Bazaar at Cedar Hills Recreation Center on Sat., March 26, 9 am - 1 pm. Get in the spirit of the season by shopping from a wide range of vendors selling baskets, crafts, baked goods and more.

Underwater Egg Hunt
Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center
Friday, March 18, 6-8:30 pm

The 18th annual Underwater Egg Hunt returns to Conestoga (9985 SW 125th Ave., Beaverton). Prized eggs await swimmers (6 months – 13 years) at the bottom of the center’s two pools. Other activities include a bounce house, Bunny Bingo, a coloring contest, cupcake walk, a photo booth and indoor play park. Admission is $7 per child.

Extreme Egg Hunt
Tualatin Hills Athletic Center
Saturday, March 19, 5-7 pm

Why let the little kids have all the fun? THPRD's newest spring event -- the Extreme Egg Hunt at Tualatin Hills Athletic Center (50 NW 158th Ave., Beaverton) -- is part egg hunt, part scavenger hunt, and all fun for anyone 13-17 years old. Decipher clues and compete against friends to find eggs hidden throughout the HMT Recreation Complex. Admission is $20 per teen.

Spring Egg Hunt, Artisan Bazaar & Pancake Breakfast
Cedar Hills Recreation Center
Saturday, March 26, 9 am - 1 pm

Visitors to Cedar Hills (11640 SW Park Way, Beaverton) can enjoy the 5th annual Spring Artisan Bazaar. A wide range of local vendors will be on site, selling everything from crafts and jewelry to handmade baskets and baked goods. A busy bunny will host three egg hunts and a pancake breakfast on this action-packed morning. Admission to the bazaar is free. The breakfast is $5 (kids eat for $3); enrollment in the egg hunts is $7 per child.

Spring Egg Hunt
Garden Home Recreation Center
Saturday, March 26, 11 am – noon

Rain or shine, kids 10 and younger will scatter into the field in search of eggs. The hunt at Garden Home (7475 SW Oleson Road, Portland) begins at 11 am; start times will be staggered for each age grouping. Baskets will be filled and prizes awarded for the lucky ones who find specially marked eggs. Guests are invited to come at 10:30 to have their picture taken with the bunny and to enjoy doughnuts and hot chocolate.
