Celebrate spring with three fun events April 18-19
March 27, 2014
It’s springtime!
Hail the annual arrival of green grass, sunshine, blooming flowers, colored eggs, friendly bunnies, and – of course – fun, family-oriented activities at THPRD recreation centers.
The Park District’s spring schedule includes three special events happening in the Beaverton area April 18-20. They will provide safe and affordable fun for guests of all ages.
“Our spring egg hunts are always among our most popular events each year,” said Eric Owens, Superintendent of Recreation. “If you’re new to the area, they provide a great opportunity to come meet our staff and check out our facilities before summer registration begins.”
Registration for THPRD classes and camps begins on Saturday, April 26, at 8 a.m. for district residents. The summer activities guide is online now, and printed copies will be delivered to homes throughout the Beaverton area next week. After April 1, activities guides can also be picked up at any THPRD center or other community gathering places, including libraries.

The 16th annual Underwater Egg Hunt returns to Conestoga on Friday, April 18.
That’s right, it’s an underwater hunt at the Conestoga pool, where prize eggs will await swimmers up to 13 years of age. The evening will feature a prize walk, a bounce house and a chance to play games like Bunny Bingo and make crafts.
The Underwater Egg Hunt is $7 per child. Registration is required. For more information, call 503/629-6313 or register at thprd.org (CO46201B Underwater Egg Hunt).

A springtime tradition at Cedar Hills, the Spring Egg Hunt is back on Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. A busy bunny will host two egg hunts and a pancake breakfast. Simultaneously, the center will host its annual artisan bazaar with a variety of local vendors selling everything from crafts and jewelry to handmade baskets and baked goods.
Space is limited for the spring egg hunts; early signup is encouraged. Specially marked eggs can be redeemed for prizes. The $7 cost covers one adult and one child.
No preregistration is required for the breakfast, which runs from 9 to11:30 a.m. and costs $3 for kids and $5 for adults. All ages are welcome. The free artisan bazaar continues until 1 p.m.

Rain or shine, fun will be had and baskets will be filled with eggs and candy at the Spring Egg Hunt. The hunt starts at 11 a.m. for kids 1-10. Prizes will be awarded for the lucky ones who find specially marked eggs. Guests are invited to come at 10:30 to have their picture taken with our bunny and to enjoy doughnuts and hot chocolate.
