Cedar Hills Rec Center to host Fall Festival on Oct. 19
September 30, 2013
Most kids can't wait until Halloween to show off their new costumes. Thanks to the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District's annual Fall Festival at Cedar Hills Recreation Center, they don't have to. The event is Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Fall Festival's family-oriented costume event features many ways to get in the spirit of the season, including crafts, games, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating and other activities for ghost, ghouls and goblins of all ages.
"The Fall Festival is a fun way for the entire family to start their Halloween celebrations a little early," said Lynda Myers, Cedar Hills Rec Center supervisor. "We have activities for all ages. It's a great community-building event that our staff and community look forward to each year."
Admission is $2.50 per person; children under 2 are free. The maximum per-family entry fee is $10. While many activities are free, some require 1-6 scrip that can be purchased for 25 cents each.
The Little Goblin Room provides a safe, contained area for the smallest children to play, while adults may prefer the gymnasium, which will be chock full of food, toy and treat vendors.
Additional enticements include a bounce house, the Pirates Cove obstacle course, a cupcake walk, a salon, bingo games, face painting and a picture alley, where families can take photos in front of several seasonal backgrounds.
Organizers will raffle off a $50 gift certificate from BJ's, a basket from Trader Joe's, and more. Tickets are $1 each.
