Senior citizens invited to Health & Wellness Resource Fair
September 25, 2012
The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) and the Beaverton Senior Citizens Advisory Committee (SCAC) invite the senior community to the Health and Wellness Resource Fair on Friday, Oct. 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at THPRD’s Elsie Stuhr Center (5550 SW Hall Boulevard).
“It’s important to maintain your health at any age,” said Mayor Denny Doyle. “The resource fair is a great opportunity for the senior citizens of our community to gather vital health information.”
The resource fair includes lectures, health and wellness resource vendors, health screenings and services (including flu shots, blood pressure, hearing, balance, and flexibility), and great raffle prizes.
Lectures include:
9:30 a.m. – “Your Hearing: Loss and Gains!” with Darin Scheurer
10:30 a.m. – “Getting the Most out of Talking to your Doctor” with Coleen Carney
11:30 a.m. – “What is Hospice and Palliative Care” with Washington County Hospice and Palliative Care
