News Release, Bond Oversight Committee, 2008 Bond Measure
Local businessman and community volunteer Kevin O’Donnell has been appointed to a committee that oversees implementation of the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District's 2008 voter-approved bond measure.
O’Donnell, an information technology professional, will serve a two-year term on the Parks Bond Citizen Oversight Committee. O’Donnell already serves on THPRD’s Trails Advisory Committee, Metro’s Westside Trail Advisory Committee, and the Washington County Bikeway Plan Technical Advisory Committee, among other community involvements.
The THPRD Board of Directors made the appointment at their regular monthly meeting on April 14. O’Donnell replaces Sue Rimkeit. Reappointed for new two-year terms were Wink Brooks, Kahler Martinson, Anthony Mills, Stephen Pearson and Jack Platten.
The 12-member committee's purpose is to ensure that the Park District meets the objectives of the bond measure and uses the funds as planned. Members focus on delivery of the overall bond measure obligations, not specific projects or activities.
Appointments are made by the THPRD Board of Directors.
The committee, which was formed in 2009, reports annually on overall progress in meeting objectives. Members have the opportunity to recommend improvements in efficiency, administration or performance.
