Jones, Fagin run Rose Festival Half Marathon together
Congratulations to the City of Beaverton for its part in helping the Rose Festival complete the first-ever Rose Festival Half Marathon in Beaverton on Sunday, May 28.
Under cloudless, sunny skies, the event started and finished at Southridge High School, next to THPRD’s Conestoga Recreation & Aquatic Center. Part of the race was run on THPRD’s Fanno Creek Trail.
THPRD also supported the community event in a variety of ways and even had five employees among the 400-plus runners.
The city and THPRD are longtime community partners, sharing resources for the benefit of taxpayers. As if to emphasize that fact, current THPRD Board President Jerry Jones and Beaverton City Councilor Mark Fagin successfully ran the entire 13.1-mile course together.
THPRD looks forward to helping the Rose Festival and city make the event even better in 2018.
