The Maintenance Operations Department supports 14 recreation and aquatic centers with a combined area of more than 500,000 square feet of building space. We also prepare more than 300 soccer, baseball and softball fields for league and tournament play. In addition, we maintain a fleet of 185 vehicles and other support equipment.
Maintenance employees are available for questions or comments. Please let us know how we're doing. We appreciate it!
Help us keep an eye on the district by letting us know if there are areas that need attention. Please use the Park Watch Report to notify us about any problems or concerns regarding maintenance in the parks.
District maintenance crews renew EcoBiz certification
The district’s Parks and Vehicle Maintenance Departments recently achieved re-certification through the Landscape Services Eco-Logical Business Program as an EcoBiz Certified Organization.
The goal of this program -- the first multi-media (air, water and solid waste) landscaping services certification program in the nation -- is to prevent and minimize pollution generated by small businesses in Oregon.
It recognizes landscape design, installation, maintenance, and irrigation service businesses and organizations that reach the highest standards in environmental protection.
To qualify, THPRD had to meet 100 percent of the legal/program requirements and 80 percent of the elective requirements. EcoBiz representatives carried out site visits to verify the accuracy of THPRD's claims.
THPRD first became certified in 2010. Re-certification is required every 5 years.
