THPRD seeks input on possible dog run at Garden Home Park
Off-leash dog spaces are one of the most common requests THPRD receives from the community. During the district's Community Visioning process, we also heard that THPRD should add more off-leash dog areas to parks. In response, THPRD is seeking community input on a possible future dog run at Garden Home Park. This public engagement process will help THPRD learn what people’s views are about the possible dog run.
Here is what you need to know…
- Community input is vital: We aim to gather community comments to guide our decision-making.
- Dog run vs dog park: A dog run is a different from a dog park. It is a smaller fenced area for dogs to exercise and socialize off leash. It is intended to serve area residents and not serve as a destination or larger community dog park.
- Possible location: The future dog run would be located just north of the ball field and south of the parking lot on SW 83rd Ave. To determine a possible location for the dog run, we will balance community input with the site’s limitations and conditions.
- Share your input: The best way to share input is by clicking here to submit your comments in an online comment form. To sign up for regular email updates about this topic, please click here.
Community input and accurate info is vital to the process. Please do not post your own fliers to support this effort. Instead, encourage neighbors and friends to visit this web page to find reliable updates, share input, and sign up for email updates.
