About the Memorial Bench program

Community members have the opportunity to memorialize and honor the memory of a loved one at select THPRD parks, trails, and natural areas. At this time we have one option to memorialize a person:

• Embed a plaque on an existing bench for $2,500.

We are working towards a list of sites where new benches may be installed on a concrete pad with an embedded plaque for $5,000. We expect this to be available in spring 2025.

Here's how to get started...

1. Complete the Memorial Bench Request Form. Click here to complete this fillable online form. Once you complete and submit the form, you will be redirected to a confirmation page. When you see this confirmation page, you can be sure that we recieved your request.

2. Await a follow up email from THPRD. We will contact you to confirm your memorial location, plaque inscription, and next steps for submitting a payment.

3. Expect a confirmation of payment and an estimated installation date. THPRD will reach out to let you know when we receive your payment and share the expected memorial installation date. While THPRD accepts request forms at any time, memorial plaques are only installed in February and August of each year. (When available, new benches are only installed in August of each year due to weather conditions.)
