The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District is encouraging community members to apply for openings on the district’s three Advisory Committees and Budget Committee. The deadline to submit applications is Monday, October 23.

 THPRD is looking at options to stabilize funding for park and recreation services to maintain current service levels and to prepare for future needs and we need the public’s help.

 Congresswoman Suzanne Bonamici, Washington County Chair Kathryn Harrington, Beaverton Mayor Lacey Beaty, THPRD Board President Alfredo Moreno, and many other local officials toured THPRD facilities at the H.M.T. Complex today to shine a spotlight on THPRD’s application for federal grant funding to aid in infrastructure improvements to support sheltering people during emergencies.

 THPRD is excited to announce that it was selected by Portland General Electric’s Drive Change Fund (DCF) to receive funding for two of the district’s latest Rec Mobiles. One of the new vehicles was on full display at this past weekend’s Big Truck Day event and will be back in action for the Tri Together Pedal Run and Dip on August 12 at the Tualatin Hills Athletic Center.

THPRD is launching the planning of a new park project in North Bethany at the southeast corner of NW Heckman Lane and 159th Ave.

THPRD has recently welcomed four long-serving staff into new roles at the district.

 On May 16, 2023, an election will be held to elect board members for two positions on the THPRD Board of Directors. Positions are at-large, meaning they serve the entire district, and terms last for four years.

 The Friends of the Tualatin Hills Nature Park and the Tualatin Hills Nature Center are hosting the Spring Native Plant Sale in partnership with Sparrowhawk Native Plants. Thousands of habitat friendly native plants are available as well as information about the benefits of native plants.

Registration for Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District’s spring programs, classes, and activities begins Saturday, February 25, at 8 am for in-district residents. Out-of-district registration starts on Monday, February 27.

THPRD is planning to replace the .85 mile stretch of boardwalk that meanders through the Willow Creek Greenway.

THPRD is now completing the design and permitting processfor the new dog run coming to Ridgewood Park. Construction of the dog run is anticipated in Spring 2023.
